Santa Monica Mountains

This is a view from a look out point on Mulholland Highway. This trip took us up into the Santa Monica Mountains on Mulholland Highway. You go up one side and down the other. It was about 25 miles. From there we took Highway One through Malibu to Topanga Canyon rd to Old Topanga Canyon road. The whole loop was about 65 miles of more wonderful roads. Look at all the twists in the road in the photos below. WOW.... This was our first experience of the famous canyon roads in the Santa Monica Mountains and they didn't disappoint. You can basically take one road across then another one back and they will all be great, fun roads. We will be back...
This shot was at the Rock Store on Mulholland. It is famous for not only the number of bikes here but for the celebrities you might find here. Arnold or Jay Leno are know to stop here fairly often and many other stars. Today I saw none. But I had to get a photo of this guy. This bike had a V8 engine. The back tire was like a car tire instead of a bike tire. There was quite a few people looking at it in disbelief.
Here we are almost down to the water. The fog was a little heavier down here.
While we were driving along Highway One we stopped at one place and got out to look at the water. There were about 6 dolphins putting on a show for us. Gracefully coming out of the water and playing. Too bad they were moving along instead of staying put. I could have watched them for a long time. It was another great trip. The scenery was unusually beautiful. The roads great.
