The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert is one of our favorite places to visit. We buy a yearly pass each year and will go a few times throughout the year. These photos were taken in early November and it was a beautiful day in the desert. Temperatures we in the upper 70's maybe low 80's. This photo is one of one their cactus gardens.

The trains began as part of the yearly holiday lights program. Well, each year it grows and this year they added a section to represent the Grand Canyon. In the foreground is the Desert Tower and in the background is El Tovar Lodge. There is over 2300 feet of track at a scale of 1 inch equals 22.5 inches. That would make this model represent almost 10 miles of track.

One of our favorite stops there is the goats. This petting area is full of small goats. They are always very active climbing and jumping.

This Golden Eagle was part of the Animal Encounter show they put on. He decided he didn't want to land where he was supposed to and flew right out of the amphitheater. After the show I saw him just sitting here. Their wingspan can reach 7 feet.

This Warthog is a mighty interesting creature. Each time we go they have added something new so I keep putting photos on the web site.
