Grapevine Canyon Petroglyphs

This is Grapevine Canyon. It is about 7 miles outside of Laughlin Nevada off
Christmas Tree Pass. The road to get there is a graded dirt road but in very
good shape. The hike from the parking area to the Petroglyphs is about
1/2 mile on a sandy dry wash.

These Petroglyphs are about 1000 years old. It was a fabulous time to
visit them. We were there at about 8:30 in the morning. The temperature
was about 80 and it was wonderfully quiet.

As you can see in the pictures there are flowers. There had been some rain
the previous week so we were seeing the result of that. It is quite a sight
to see. These Indians must have had a lot to say because there are thousands
of petroglyphs.

Grapevine canyon is in the shadows of Spirit mountain. One of these times when
we go to Laughlin we will have to hike the mountain trail.

It is very special when you visit the desert and there are flowers in bloom.
