We have driven past this museum many times on the way to some other place and it had been on my list of places to see before summer when it gets HOT. March Field Air Museum is located adjacent to the March Air Reserve base in Riverside.

This cockpit was used in the filming of Strategic Air Command with James Stewart and June Allyson. The museum has a very nice display of planes inside as well as outside.

It was a great day to visit. The temperatures were in the upper 60's so with the sun it was nice and comfortable.

This is a B-17G Flying Fortress built from 1935 to 1945 and used heavily in daylight bombing of Germany in WWII.

This is the rear of the same B-17G Flying Fortress. What made this plane so interesting to me was the machine guns mounted on it. In total there were 13 of them all fifty caliber.
