Vernal Equinox Run

This run was called the Vernal Equinox run. It covered some areas of old route 66 such as this one. In this area going up and down the Cajon Pass Route 66 was a divided highway. Today one side is shut down but you can get onto certain parts of it like this and there is no traffic. So we stopped for a quick photo opportunity.

Here are a few of our cars with the mountains and snow in the background. Here we are at about 2,000 ft elevation and later we would climb to about 7,000 ft. On the North side of the mountains there is still snow.

Hey, it is a driving event so I had to put a driving photo in<grin>.

The event ended at Descanso Gardens where we had a picnic then toured the gardens. It was the first day of spring and it was the first day of their spring event. They had 28,000 tulips in bloom.

The weather was great, the roads were great, the gardens were great... This is what life is meant to be. Just enjoyable !!!
