California Speedway

click photo to enlarge		 This was our first time to California Speedway and our first time to a NASCAR event. It was a hot and smoggy day. We went to the Saturday even instead of Sunday. Crowds are a lot smaller. There was all kinds of partying and tailgatting going on in the parking lot.

click photo to enlarge		 This picture gives you an idea how long and large this track is. We were parked at one extreme end of the parking lot and our seats were at the opposite far end of the stands. It had to be a 1-1/2 mile walk.

click photo to enlarge		 This is during the warm up laps because once they got going at 200 mph it was pretty hard to get a picture of them. The California Speedway is such a large track the cars get pretty strung out and you don't see this many this close together either.

click photo to enlarge		 Yee Hahhh they just dropped the flag for the start of the race. We forgot to bring our ear plugs and had to buy them there. You can't handle a couple hours of this without them.
