Swansea Townsite

Swansea Townsite was a mining town. Silver and copper. It was abandoned
during the great depression. Today there are a few different dirt
roads available to get to it. This is the road we took.

In the background here there is a picnic shelter which we used to have
lunch. Some of the ruins are in the process of being restored. At one time
there were over 2,000 inhabitants.

The town had two smelters, post office, saloons, railroad depot and more.

The town is off in the distance in this photo. It is east of Parker Arizona.

These miner dorms are being restored by somebody. Not sure who. We had run
into another couple there that told us they had seen a rattlesnake here so I
was looking for him. Never did find him.
