The Claremont Heritage Society offers walking tours of the village once a month. For the last 5 years I had been saying I wanted to do this so we finally got around to it. This is the restored Sante Fe Depot in downtown Claremont.

This is a view from the other side of the Depot. The depot was built of a Spanish type architecture so travelers from the east would see California's Spanish heritage.

This is the Sumner House a Queen Anne Victorian house built in 1886. This house was moved a few miles from it's original location in 1888 to the present location. It was moved by rolling it on logs and took about 2 weeks to move. The family stayed in the house while it was being moved. Today it is owned by the Pomona College. At one time it was called the Veggie House because the vegetarian students occupied the house.

This is the Claremont City Hall. Built of Spanish architecture with clay tile roof. After the walking tour we stopped at the Harvard Square Cafe and had a wonderful lunch.
