After the previous days ride over Sonora Pass I didn't think anything could top that. To get to route 4 and Ebbetts I first got to drive over Monitor Pass. Another wonderful road.

After going over Ebbetts Pass I came to two lakes called Mosquito Lakes. It made for a great place to get off the motorcycle and check out the lakes while reflecting on the mornings ride.

This is Alpine Lake about 10 miles further down the road. Ebbetts Pass Route 4 is a scenic byway and these lakes are some of the reasons why.

This is one of the Sequoia tress at Calaveras Big Trees Sate Park. I took one of the loop trails through the park to enjoy looking at the monster trees. Yes, this is in Calaveras County, home of the famous frog jumping contest. The frog jumping contest happens each year in the town of Angels Camp. They get entries from all over the world.

On the eastern end of ride I stopped in the town of Murphys to have lunch. This is Murphys Hotel where I ate and the food was wonderful.
