The Ronald Reagan Library has a building that houses the old Air Force One that was used by President Reagan. The building was opened on October of  2004. We had been to the Reagan Library once before in 2002 but I wanted to come back to see this great exhibit. We had a friend from Germany in town so decided to take him to the Library. Since he lives in Berlin the history of Reagan and the Berlin wall was very interesting.

You can actually board and walk through the plane. However they don't allow any photographs past the point where I took this one. The most surprising thing to me was that the plane seemed small. Today they use a much larger plane a 747. Also you kind of expect it to be much more luxurious then it is. Now, it is certainly a lot nice then the coach class I fly on <grin> but I expected a bit more. For more photos click here. The plane and the entire facility for that matter were immaculate.

Outside the Library is where Ronald Reagan is entombed. Also one of the things that occurred while he was in office was the famous speech where he said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" in June of 1987 and the Berlin wall was torn down. The pictures at the bottom here are a replica of "Checkpoint Charlie" and an actual piece of the Berlin Wall.
