We went on a tour of this historic area of Los Angeles with our Miata club. It
was a 2-1/2 hour walking tour and we were even able to go in two of the homes.
This particular home was one the most beautifully restored homes on the
street.

Angelino Heights is bordered by Echo park which was the original home of the
film industry before Hollywoodland was built. The area, or distinct, is the
oldest one in Los Angeles and was connected to downtown by cable car.

Many of the Victorian style homes have been restored or are in various
stages of restoration. The area is the first Historic Preservation Overlay
Zone which sets down rules for restoration and requires new construction
to resemble original architecture.

Some of these old homes are 4 and 5,000 square feet in size.

You can see some areas of this home are still undergoing restoration. I can
only imagine how much work and money goes into restoring them with all the
gingerbread on these homes.
