Devil's Chair Hike |

This is a 7 mile round trip hike that starts with a gradual climb in elevation but only about 600 ft. The the trail is relatively flat until the last half mile. It starts at the Devils Punchbowl LA County park. The Devil's Punchbowl is a place where the Punchbowl and Pinyon faults collide and rocks jut upward a few hundred feet. |

The Angeles National Forest and pine trees will be to the south and the upper desert to the north. |

You see many different colored rocks on the hike as you pass different geologic formations. |

It was a great day for the hike the temperatures were in the mid sixties and the sky was clear. The views on this hike are incredible. |

In the lower right of this photo you can see a white rock jutting out. That is the Devil's chair. There is a railing along the trail from the point where I took this photo out to the chair as you walk out along a narrow ridge to it. With my acrophobia I would not have been able to get out there without the railing. The views from the chair are incredible and I know I will have to take Karen on this hike also. |
