Kolob Canyons is a region of Zion National Park that is not connected to the valley by roads. It is about an hour drive from Zion Valley. Since it's elevation is a few thousand feet higher we decided to pack a lunch and go visit this area because it would be cooler then it was in the valley. They were experiencing record setting temperatures when we were in Zion.
