Karen had a cousin in town from Detroit so we went to visit and then we all
went down to the Santa Monica Pier. This sign is the entrance to the pier and
also the official end of Route 66. |

This is called Arlington West. Every Sunday from sunrise to sunset a
memorial is erected to honor the fallen and wounded in Iraq. The picture
in the lower left is of the ferris wheel on the pier. The picture directly below
is looking out towards the original muscle beach. It is where the palm
trees are. |
