Well, we have been to Boron a few times over the years and I saw they were
having a parade for their Twenty Mule Team Days. So we decided to check it
out. I had seen on the internet that they had a real twenty Mule Team the
previous year and I wanted to see that. Turns out they had one the previous
year because it was like their 50th year celebration but they didn't have one
this year. |

I also saw the parade lasted about an hour. I wasn't sure how such a small
town could have an hour long parade. After the parade started we found out
why. Each float or group stops in front of the judges stand and performs for
a few minutes. So if you take 20 floats/groups times 3 minutes , well there
is your hour. There were plenty of church group floats like this Noah's Ark
and of course what parade is complete without a Mariachi band. |

While there we visited the two museum in town. In the Colonel Vernon P.
Saxon Jr. Aerospace Museum they had a few computers set up with Flight
simulation and the museum curator showing you how to fly. So, it was the
fist time I ever sat down and tried it. I actually got Karen to try it
too. I was amazed at how far this software and simulation has come. I
also asked at the Twenty Mule Team Museum about a stone house we had seen.
The lady gave us information on them and told us where we could see more.
I liked the one below with the fallen tree on it. Many of the scenes from
the movie Erin Brockovich were also filmed in Boron. |
