click photo to enlarge	Elmer Long, aka the BottleTree Man creates his art in Oro Grande on Historic Route 66. We have been past many times but on this day we went in to talk with Elmer and photograph some of his art work. We were on out way to work at the Route 66 Mother Road Museum in Barstow. While Karen was talking to Elmer I was running around taking photographs. It made for a fun stop but we had to get going because people would be waiting for us to open the museum.
click photo to enlarge	Elmer has quite a collection of artwork on his property. When driving by if you see him out and about stop and wander around. H collects most of his bottles locally in the desert. He also has a blog with more information. Visit Elmer's blog for some in depth information and history.
click photo to enlarge	As a young boy Elmer used to go out in the desert with his father collecting old bottles. It was a combining of his fathers treasures and Elmer's treasures that led him to creating his unique artwork in order to display it all.
