El Molino Viejo

El Molino Viejo, or the Old Mill was built around 1816 as a grist mill for the San Gabriel Mission. The lower walls of the museum are up to 5 feet thick and are made from oven baked brick while the upper floor walls are made of adobe.

The California Art Club keeps a gallery of paintings for sale on the upper floor or what used to be the granary. The outside of the building is very shaded and there are gardens around.

The passageway leads downstairs to where the water wheels were. The Old Mill is located in San Marino, a very exclusive city near Pasadena.
