The Vintage Auto Racing Association (VARA) put on a three day event at the Auto
Club Speedway in Fontana. What I like about events like this where a club
rents the track is you can go anywhere around the track to take pictures. It
makes for a lot of fun to wander around without the large crowds. |

There were more than 200 cars from 1916 to 1999 that participated. They
included production cars up to 1972 and open wheel cars made as recently as
the early 1990s. |

This is the same track NASCAR uses when they come to southern California.
You can go in the pits or in the seating for the corporate sponsors. You
are parked right in the infield so you can bring a cooler with a picnic
lunch and nobody cares. |
