Automobile Driving Museum

  

click photo to enlarge		 The Automobile Driving Museum is located near the vineyards of El Segundo. This museum is very unique in that not only do they have a great collection of antique cars but each Sunday they bring out three of them to take you for a ride. It is really very unique. Most of the cars on display have been restored to drivable condition.

click photo to enlarge		 They have more then 70 cars on display. The one to the left is a Kaiser. Yes it was owned and run by the same man who started the Health Care company I work for. They have a large selection of Packard's too. Like the peach colored 1941 Packard Clipper Darrin.

click photo to enlarge		 Right around this beautiful 1959 Austin Healy were a few MG's. The Austin was a 6 cylinder that produced 124 horsepower. Admission is a suggested donation of $5 per person. You can even find the ride schedule on their web page. I got to go for a ride in one of the owners Studebaker Avanti. I specifically asked since I can still remember riding in my Aunt's Avanati back in 1963 while visiting Washington DC. Sitting in the car I could recall the little control knobs that looked like aircraft parts and the tuck and roll upholstery.
