Cal Earth is open to the public the first Saturday of the month and we wanted to go see what it was all about. The living structures are made out of earth. They fill long tubes with earth, in place and wind them around in circles. The tubes are held in place with a simple strand of barbed wire. They sell books  and also have learning workshops you can take to lean how to build these structures.

The one to the left is the largest on the property and the picture to the lower left is inside this structure. This is one of the few finished off so you can see what it might look like finished inside. The basic premise is that anybody can afford and build basic small structures like this from the earth.
