Lincoln Pilgrimage

Since relocating to CA in 2001 I have seen this Lincoln Pilgrimage listed in things to do so decided it was time to find out what this was all about. Redlands is always an interesting place to go visit anyway. There is a shrine to Lincoln in Redlands we have been to before and this link will explain why they have this shrine in Redlands.

The Lincoln Pilgrimage is coordinated by the Grayback District of the California Inland Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America. The person playing Lincoln was riding in one of the antique cars. Since Lincoln himself never rode in a car I thought it kind of odd, but, hey... the parade is a long walk or ride on horseback.

This parade had a lot of solders which makes sense since it was about Lincoln. The purpose of the pilgrimage is to help encourage youth to dedicate themselves to the principles and virtues held by President Abraham Lincoln and our founding fathers. After the parade they had a bunch of speeches at the Redlands Bowl.
