Norco is an interesting city about 15 miles from us. It is interesting in that
it is a horse community. Instead of sidewalks there are horse trails. A home
owner can ride their horse into town and tie up at one of the many hitching
posts. In 2003 Norco became a charter city for the purpose of protecting and
preserving animal keeping rights. The charter has provisions in three areas;
horse trails, lot size and animal keeping rights. In order to change any of
those provisions requires a super majority of 4/5 vote of city council. |

The Friends of Norco Hills has an annual ranch tour we decided to go to this
year. We didn't know what to expect and it turns out they are all equestrian ranches. One stop is the local high
school which has an agricultural department on 8 acres. The ag dept has a
nursery, livestock pens, greenhouse, swine unit, hen house and other ag
related things. |

I am not sure what we expected, but being a horse community and this was a
ranch tour all stops were horses. So my pictures are all horses. It was
interesting to be driving around this community so close to us that we had
never really visited before. The cities name is an abbreviation for NORth
COrona. |
