Riverside Flower Show and Garden Tour

Since this was a flower show they had an indoor flower show at the Elks Lodge
where flowers were judged. Then they had six private gardens you could tour.
They had raffles throughout the day to win prizes but we didn't hang around
the Elks Lodge, we were out to tour the gardens. They had jewelry there so I
was afraid what we might need to purchase if we stayed there also. |

There were gardens of all types. Some of the yards were rather small but they
made use of all the space they had. There were many types of gardens;
flowers, desert and vegetable. It was a beautiful spring day and we drove
around in the convertible going to each garden. |

One stop had indoor and outdoor train displays. In his outdoor "G" scale
train layout he had over 3,000 feet of track on 1/3 of an acre. The
display was very detailed with little towns and villages and even a little
humor interspersed in like the IRS building was on fire. This show has
been taking place for about 50 years. |
