Anytime we are traveling on Route 40 in Arizona we get off the highway and take the long
uninterrupted stretch of Route 66 from Seligman to Kingman Arizona. This time
a winter storm had just blown though before we arrived. The town of Radiator
Springs in the movie Cars was loosely based on Seligman. Angel and Juan Delgadillo were instrumental in getting the Route 66 movement going in
Arizona. We spent a night visiting with Juan back in the late 90s and that
night and other events on that trip kind of gave us the Route 66 bug. |

The Snow Cap was opened in 1953 by Juan Degadillo. It is now operated by his
son John. They serve things like a cheeseburger with cheese and dead chicken
sandwiches along with ice cream. It is worth looking around at all the stuff
at this place. |

When I saw snow at the Snow Cap, well I had to take pictures. We also eat
at West Side Lilo's anytime we are in town and they did not disappoint. |
