80th Great Sand Sculpture Contest

  

click photo to enlarge		 The web site says this was the 80th annual Long Beach Sand Castle Contest. I figured wow this should be pretty good to be going on for 80 years. I have been to a sand castle contest out in the desert in Barstow and in Oceanside CA and they were really pretty incredible. I was a bit under whelmed by this one. The web site goes on to say You can build your own sculpture or just see the ones built by professionals as well as corporate and community teams.

click photo to enlarge		 There were probably 25 to 30 sand castles and most were very small and not real detailed. It was a nice day for a walk on the beach though so...
