The original Stagecoach Inn, called the Grand Union Hotel, was built in 1876
at the southwest corner of what is now Ventu Park Road and the Ventura
Freeway. It was built of Northern California Redwood for a cost of about
$7,000. Stage Coaches would stop on their way towards Santa Barbara. Today the
grounds are a museum. In April of 1970 a fire destroyed the museum and much of
the contents. |
