Pasadena Doo Dah Parade 2012

The Pasadena Doo Dah Parade is an entertaining spoof on the formality of the Rose Parade. It is everything the Rose Parade is not. It was conceived in 1978 by several friends as an alternative to the Rose Parade. The Rose Parade will not run on a Sunday so they decided to have the Doo Dah Parade on Sunday, January 1 of that year.

Some of the groups/people participating over the years are; Snotty Scotty and the Hankies, the Lawn Mower Drill Team, the Briefcase Drill Team, General Hershey Bar, the Shopping Cart Drill Team, the Bastard Sons of Lee Marvin, the Men of Leisure and the Blues Brothers.

The parade has moved from Old Town Pasadena to East Pasadena and now runs on the last Saturday in April. I have to admit it sure was entertaining and a lot larger than I expected.

The Blues Brothers were even in the parade... what more could you want.
