Pleasant Valley Willoughby Hills

The picture to the left is an area called Pleasant Valley in Willoughby Hills
Oh. I grew up in a house down in this valley along the Chagrin River. Some
years we got really outstanding colors of the leaves and this year was one of
those years. Normally I like nice pretty blue skies for photos but for this
you get better color saturation without the harsh sun washing out the colors. |

Our old house is just out of this picture. The river looks so tame and quiet
it is hard to image it can be up to 20 feet higher in the spring when the
ice breaks. We had the river in our backyard to swim, fish, ice skate and go
tubing in. Across the street from our house was a large heavy wooded area to
also play, hike and camp in. |

The castle to the left is Squires Castle which was near where we grew up.
The picture in the lower left is taken from my brothers current back yard.
Look at those cliffs for a kid to climb.<grin> The picture at the bottom
is the back yard where I grew up. While I would personally never live in
an area that can flood it sure was a great place for a kid to grow up. |
