Skyline Drive or Forest Road 2N10

Skyline Drive, in the San Bernardino National Forest, is a relatively tame off road adventure compared to some of the other roads. There are a number of turns you can take off 2N10 and then return. We typically take a picnic lunch with us and stop some place in the forest to eat. We bought our truck to go off roading but have not done much of it this year.

Skyline Drive in Big Bear, California starts at the end of Aspen Drive in Big Bear City, near Bear Mountain. This trail is also known as 2N10. It heads east towards Castle Rock, Champion Lodgepole Pine and then down Mill Creek towards Big Bear Lake. Trails that veer off of it are 2N17, 2N86, 2N11, 1N54, 2N51Y and 2N06. We took it headed East and ended our little adventure at the Moon Ridge Zoo.

We just love getting away on these forest roads. The skies are always so incredibly blue and pretty. We did see a few other vehicles but not many. In some areas you can see Big Bear Lake off in the distance. This road is closed during the winter.
