Our reason for going to Montgomery was to see our new grandson Levi.
Karen is not fond of me posting pictures on the web but oh well I am putting
this one out here. She doesn't always look at this site anyway. We had a wonderful time visiting and found Montgomery to be a
very charming town. Now we just have to settle for Skype to see Levi and watch
him change and grow. |

Compared to CA it seems so small. One of the really cool things we both
enjoyed was you can drive a few minutes from a town and you are in a rural
area. This is just like it was in Ohio when we lived there. We can drive 60 miles west from our house towards the Pacific Ocean
and it is just sold city the entire way. The Bamboo at the left is in
Prattville a charming town just outside of Montgomery. |

The last time I was in Alabama was in 2008 when I rode my motorcycle across
the country to go to the Honda Hoot. They have changed the downtown are a
fair amount since both Karen and I were there in 2006. The riverfront park
area is very nice and they have a bunch of shops and restaurants at the
Alley Station that is new. We are still surprised at how much it closes up
on Sundays, but it is part of the bible belt. Speaking of that, the church in
the lower left is where Martin Luther King Jr. was pastor. |
