Northeast Ohio Parks

Northeast Ohio has an abundance of parks and they seem to be well supported as tax levis for the parks pass. The barn on the left is in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The park winds along the Cuyahoga River and also the old Ohio and Erie Canal Tow path. This is a relatively new park. The area was redesignated a national park by Congress on October 11, 2000.

Most of the remaining photos are in the Brecksville reservation which is part of the Cleveland Metro Parks and the Emerald Necklace. The park system was started in 1917 so has been around a long time. We frequented the parks when we lived in Ohio, whether it was hiking, sled riding, cross country skiing, feeding the ducks when you were allowed to. We used to love to go cook breakfast in the park. Umm in my younger days it was a nice place to take a young girl to go make out. Shh don't tell Karen. She never reads this drivel and being a good catholic girl she never did things like that.

At one point when we lived on Lake County the Lake Metro Parks was very small. Today it has been well supported with tax levees and has grown tremendously. While in Ohio in 2012 I was taking photos in many of the parks. We stopped to se a brand new one that was about a half mile from where I grew up on River Road.
