Every year just before Christmas time the Palos Verdes Neighborhood church
does something called the Yule Parlor Parade. You get to tour a few homes in
Palos Verdes Estates and the mansion that became the Neighborhood Church. It
was a pretty day with a little bit of very light fog at the coast. In the
early 1900s there were no churches in the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Some women in the area
decided to start a bible study in their homes. This evolved
into a school becoming the Neighborhood church in 1939. In the late 50s they
ended up buying the old Haggarty Estate. A lot of renovation needed to be done
and over the years it has turned into a beautiful church on a bluff
overlooking the Pacific Ocean. |

Now, it turns out a big part of this event is the Tea which included those
wonderful, cute little over priced tea sandwiches. LOL Karen had been gone
in Cleveland for a few months and I thought this might be something fun to
do when she got home and it was. But I think I was the only male there. Not
sure I will suggest this again. |

But seriously, it was a very pretty day and it was interesting to go
through a few homes belonging to the rich folks in the area. The Church is
really interesting to see and the grounds are very pretty. Now, the over
priced sandwiches with the crust missing... umm they are just so cute I
love those little things. |
