We have been to Las Vegas at least 10 times and I had never seen the Welcome
to Fabulous
Las Vegas sign. So I wanted to take a picture of it... as it turns out so do a
bazillion other people. The sign is in the middle of the road and they have
built an area to make it safe and also put in a small parking lot but the key
word there is small. It took about 3 days of going past it at difference times
of the day before we got a time where the line was short. There are busses and
limos bringing people here and sometimes there were as many as 3 different Elvis
impersonators there especially for ladies to have their picture taken with. |

This is the Boulder Depot at the Clark County Museum. The Clark County Museum is
on Boulder Highway in Henderson. The museums main focus is on the history of
Clark County with a modern exhibit hall. The exhibit hall had a timeline
about southern Nevada from pre-historic to modern times and a collection of
restored historic buildings that depict daily life from different decades in
Las Vegas, Boulder City and Henderson. If you have ever watched the
History Channel's Pawn Stars" you may have seen the museum curator Mark
Hall-Patton. Speaking of that show you can go into the pawn shop in Las
Vegas featured on the show but be prepared to wait in line as they get a
long line of people there. |

The picture in the lower left is Boulder Nevada. Boulder is actually a
pretty unique town with a lot of history and well worth exploring. There are
a number of unique shops, restaurants and hotels. The Historic Boulder Dam
Hotel contains the Boulder City Museum which is well worth visiting. The
photo below is Lake Mead taken from the Alan Bible Visitors Center. |
