Boise has a plethora of parks in and around the city and we explored a number
of them while there. There is a long string of them along the Boise River
downtown. Then
there is the Boise River Greenbelt which is about 20 miles long. It
connects the parks and the local areas to provide a great way for people to
ride their bicycles into the downtown area. And, there is a large number of
people who do abandon cars and ride their bikes into town. |

We also enjoyed a number of really good restaurants. One day we ate lunch at
the culinary arts school on the Boise State campus and the food was
wonderful and reasonably priced. While in Boise we ate at three restaurants
that had been featured on the food networks Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. In
fact on this trip we ate a total of 14 places that had been featured on the
show. |

Boise has a lot of museums also and we visited; the Boise Art Museum, The
Discovery Center, Botanical Gardens, Birds of Prey, Historical Museum and I
am sure I am missing a few others. The history museum had a wonderful
display on the 150 year history of Idaho. It was so large you could not
look at and read all the displays. All in all we were very impressed with
Bose. Would we retire there? Hmmmmm |
