Fillmore CA.
click photo to enlarge	Fillmore is a city in Ventura county in an agricultural area. Fillmore has a historic downtown that was established when Southern Pacific built the railroad through the valley in 1887. They also provided a name for the town; J. A. Fillmore was a general superintendent for the company's Pacific system. The population is about 15K as of the 2010 census. One of our first little jaunts in CA was to the fish hatchery east of the town with the local Goldwing club. While that was one of the few things we did with the club we remained friends with John who took us out there.
click photo to enlarge	Fillmore still has a train ride they do on the Fillmore and Western Railway. The F&W is known as the "Home of the Hollywood Movie Trains" because the majority of its rolling stock was acquired from three major studios: 20th Century Fox, Paramount, and MGM. The railroad is frequently used for the filming of television series, motion pictures and commercials and as a locale for private and commercial still photography. The town was pretty quiet when we were there. We were on our way to see the Monarch butterflies in Goleta.
