Leaving Las Vegas and driving up north  towards Valley of Fire Stave park we were getting a little bit of rain. When we turned off the 15 freeway to head east you go over a small mountain range. It was raining there as we were going up in elevation but as we were going back down in the Valley of Fire the storm was blowing out. The top picture shows this storm. Photography is all about reflected light and we ended up with one of the most spectacular days for taking pictures I have ever had. Every where you looked you had a great photo.

We hiked the Mouse's Tank trail and the colors were just so incredible. I have never seen anything like it. We knew there was nothing in the park to eat so we took a picnic lunch with us and just enjoyed the spectacular day and the temperatures were wonderful too. This was our third time since the mid 90s going to this park and by far this was the prettiest ever. There are more pictures of it on Flickr
