As usual I am a bit behind posting photos as these were taken in the fall. When Karen and I lived in Ohio most years we would take an extended weekend and spend it someplace to enjoy the fall colors. Living in southern California it is easy to sometimes not even know what season it is because we do not get snow and we do not have trees where the leaves turn color. This year we took a drive along the eastern Sierra mountains. The drive is spectacular any time of year but this we found really enjoyable. While the leaves are predominantly yellow because the trees are mostly pine or Aspens it was still very beautiful.

The higher elevations turn color first and we have a friend that told us about Bishop Canyon and the lakes there. There is a web site that shows the color and status of the leaves along the eastern sierras called California fall colors at this link. In 2017 I will be retired so who knows maybe we will do this again as we had a nice time. But then we always have a nice time.
