We had not been up to Lake Arrowhead in a few years and this winter we decided to take a lake cruise. We were amazed at the size and costs of the homes around Lake Arrowhead. Lake Arrowhead has also appeared in a number of movies and it has had a number of famous people own homes around the lake. A cheap home on the lake starts at about $1 Million and on the internet I see homes for about 5 million. Just a little bit out of my price range. |

Lake Arrowhead consists of 6 communities including Lake Arrowhead, Twin Peaks, Blue Jay, Cedar Glen, Sky Forest, and Rim Forest. It was called Little Bear lake until around 1920 when a group from Los Angeles, the Arrowhead Lake Company, bought the lake and the land surrounding it, and changed its name to Arrowhead Lake. Lake Arrowhead is a private lake. Therefore, it's use is restricted to homeowners in a tract of land roughly 1 mile around the perimeter of the lake, known as "Arrowhead Woods". However, many lake-related activities are available to the general public. I am not sure exactly how they managed to do that but it is a private lake. |
