Cadillac Ranch, located in Amarillo Texas, is a world famous Route 66 roadside attraction. We were driving to Cleveland by Freeway but had to make a couple stops on Route 66 to film a few videos for the grandkids who love the Cars movies. We wanted them to know that some of the places in the movie really exist. We have been volunteering at the Route 66 museum in Barstow CA for about 15 years now and get visitors from all over the world and anybody driving Route 66 through Texas stops at certain things and Cadillac Ranch is one of those stops. The silhouette of the Cadillac fins sticking up in the air is even used as the mountains in the Disneyland cars land area. |

As you can see in the pictures it is pretty busy. We took paint cans from home in order to video me paining the grandkids names on the cars. The cars have so much pain on them you can just see it if big gobs. People like to climb on them to find just that perfect spot to paint. People even paint the dirt on the walk way out to the cars. |
