The Southern California Auto Club sponsors a race at the Fontana Speedway and offers free tickets to members on practice day. Since the tickets are free some years we go. But this year for whatever reason they had a lot less things set up and going on so there was not much to do. We were only at the actual race once about 15 years ago. While I like almost all kinds of auto racing I am not real crazy about NASCAR. You can't see or watch the leaser all the way around the track so you can't watch the action with the leader only when they come zooming by you. |

It was a pretty day because the mountains had a fresh coating of snow on them. This year has been the 3rd wettest year in SCAL, at 29 inches, since we moved here 19 years ago. Because of that, the drought restrictions have been lifted and the mountains have had snow most of the time. Considering we have years where we only get 7 or 8 inches of rain 29 is a lot and our average is 19. |
