In May of 2020 I started planning an RV camping trip and reserved an RV. I chose to go at the beginning of October so it would be cooler and not as crowded but also because it would cover our 30th anniversary.  So in July. while we were still under the safer at home orders, we went up to Joshua Tree National Park to Indian Cover Campground. I wanted to make sure that the site we had reserved was large enough to handle the 30 ft. motor home even though we had reserved a 25 footer. The site we had reserved was #35 and it was very flat and also tucked behind a large rock pile to protect it from winds. It was a beautiful site and we both got excited for our upcoming trip.

The day we visited it was 105 degrees out and we did eat a picnic lunch we brought with us. The campground was pretty empty. I mean who goes to a campground at the end of July in Joshua tree right. As it was getting closer to our RV trip date we were setting record high temperatures in Southern California and since we would not have power to run the RV air conditioner I booked a Lake View site at Lake Mead National Recreation area and we ended up staying there instead. But the site at Indian Point was beautiful and we may go back again yet. Seeing the stars at night from Joshua Tree can be a stunning experience.
