We have been going to visit Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch since 2001. Unfortunately Elmer Long passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2019, but we are lucky that the family has managed to keep this open for the public to visit. We talked with Elmer a number of times over the years and one day he even invited us inside the house. If you look closely at the trees there are all kinds of things on top of them. From parking meters, to rifles to cooking utensils, to surf boards.... The list goes on and on. |

Elmer actually purchased some of these items just to put on top of his trees and others he finds in the desert and still others people gave him items to use. If you are ever on Route 66 in Oro Grande, Elmer's place is a must see. It is famous all around the world in Route 66 guide books and it gets visitors from all over the world. |
