Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR)went to Warm Spring Georgia for the first time in 1924 for Polio treatment. He liked the area so much that he had a home built on Pine Mountain.  It would later become his presidential retreat. He died there in April of 1945 when he was only 3 months into his fourth term as president. It became known as The Little White House. FDR had many accomplishments as president, He set up Social Security, Established the FDIC, took part in setting up the United Nations, created the Emergency Banking Act and reduced the unemployment rate during the depression by 23%,

His New Deal Program  was compromised of The Federal Emergency Relief Administration, The Civilian Conservation Corps, The Tennessee Valley Authority, The Agricultural Adjustment Administration and the Public Works Administration. One of the things we enjoy doing when we are traveling is going to presidential libraries, museums of places like this because we learn so much about what defined presidents. Many of the things FDR did we still enjoy today and for sure the CCC and PWA left their marks on the USA. Many structures at National Park were build by these groups and still stand today.
