Cleveland Churches

 

 

click photo to enlarge		 Every time we go back to visit Ohio I end up taking photos of different subjects. This time it was different churches and in particular I was looking for the onion dome church buildings. The one that says PRAY FOR UKRAINE is St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral where John Demjanjuk attended. The one below it is where Karen went to high school, St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cathedral. This facility is currently closed and for sale.  Below that is where she went to grade school, St. Columbkille Catholic Parish.

click photo to enlarge		 Next one down is Saint Josaphat Cathedral and finally St Theodosius Orthodox Cathedral. We got to go in this and the gentlemen who showed us around was very informative about the cathedral. This facility was used for the wedding scene in the movie "The Deer Hunter" with Robert De Niro. A week or so later we ended up going to Buffalo and went to Our Lady of Victory Basilica. More can be seen on FLICKR at this link.
