Driving to Pahrump Nevada

 

 

click photo to enlarge		 Driving from Upland, California to Pahrump, Nevada, you will pass through Zzyzx, and Baker, Calironia. Zzyzx is a small unincorporated community in the Mojave Desert, and it is known for its hot springs and its quirky name. Baker is a larger town, and it is home to the Alien Fresh Jerky Factory, and they are building a hotel to be called The Intergalactic Outpost. The hotel will have 50 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, and a gift shop. It will also have a rooftop deck with views of the Mojave Desert. The rooms will be themed after different planets in the solar system, and they will come with amenities such as telescopes and solar showers.

click photo to enlarge		 Coffinwood is a roadside attraction in Pahrump, Nevada. It is the home of Bryan and Dusty Schoening, who run a business called Coffin It Up, which makes custom coffins. The property is decorated with coffins, hearses, and other death-related objects. There is also a pet cemetery, a church, and a coffin-shaped gazebo. Pahrump, being in Nevada of course has a number of casinos and a lot of dining options. We stayed at Preferred RC Resort and walked to one of the casinos for dinner.
