Canyon de Chelly National Monument has a unique
blend of natural beauty and cultural significance. Its towering sandstone
cliffs, carved by millennia of wind and water, cradle verdant canyons teeming
with life. Ancient Puebloan cliff dwellings and petroglyphs whisper tales of
past inhabitants, while present-day Navajo families continue their
longstanding connection to this sacred land.

Visitors can explore the rim drives offering breathtaking
vistas, embark on guided tours into the canyon depths, and experience the
enduring spirit of Canyon de Chelly. You can only go down into the canyon
with an Indian guide. We have visited the rim views in a past trip to the
canyon so this time we rented a guide who drove us in his jeep. His family
has lived in the canyon for generations and he was very knowledgeable on the
canyon. |
