The Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum, also known as Airbase Arizona Aircraft Museum, is a haven for history buffs interested in World War II era aviation. Established in 1978, it houses an impressive collection of meticulously restored military aircraft, including bombers, fighters, and even helicopters. You can explore these historic planes up close, and some even offer rides for a taste of what it was like for pilots back in the day. The museum also features exhibits and artifacts that tell the stories of the brave men and women who flew these machines.

They have docents that give tours and tell you all about the various aircraft they have. It was a great way to learn about aviation. Our docent was explaining to us about the myths perpetuated by Hollywood such as you have the impression these planes can fly for a long time full out. Well, that is a myth because at full throttle they would run out of fuel pretty quick.
