Jurupa Regional Park

Jurupa Regional Park is one of our favorite local campgrounds. We often like to just get away and while it is only 25 miles from home you are out enjoying the outdoors and it just feels like you are far away. We prefer State, County and City campgrounds over commercial private ones like KOA. The sites tend to be much larger and nicer so you are not on top of each other. This particular time while we were there in early evening I had just started a campfire and I said to Karen "wow somebody must have a large fire going" as I smelled it. I got up and looked behind us and OMG the neighbors truck was on fire.

Karen called 911 and I went over to make sure nobody was in the truck. The firemen are cutting the hood of the truck to get to the fire. The truck was totaled and they think it was probably an electrical fire. The picture below shows a homemade serious off road camper. The guys took a military transport vehicle and fitted a backwards truck camper on it. It is amazing the things you see in campgrounds and the amount of money people spend, from tents to multi million dollar campers.
