Having visited Cape Spear, the eastern most point of North America and the first to see the sunrise we were eager to witness the opposite spectacle: the sunset at Cape Flattery and Neah Bay, the continental United States’ northwesternmost points. Beyond the sunset, our primary goal was to escape the scorching Southern California summer. While back home temperatures soared into the triple digits, we enjoyed pleasant highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. It's the perfect way to RV: chasing sunshine and comfortable temperatures.

Neah Bay is on the Makah Indian Reservation in Clallam County Washington and is primarily a fishing village. During the summer they get an influx of tourists. The winding road leading to town is often shared with logging trucks, making for a somewhat adventurous journey in a motorhome. One of our favorite things with the motorhome is being able to stop at pretty spots along the way to park and enjoy lunch.
