History of Humanity in Granite

 

 

click photo to enlarge		 Located in Felicity, California, The History of Humanity in Granite is a unique and inspiring site that also holds the official designation as the "Center of the World." A plaque marking this distinction can be found inside the pyramid-shaped building at the heart of the site. The project's mission states: "The History of Humanity in Granite exists partly so that distant descendants, perhaps far from planet Earth, may view our history with understanding and, hopefully, with affection."

click photo to enlarge		 Among the many features is the Maze of Honor, a place dedicated to personal remembrance. When Karen completed her cancer treatments, we wanted to commemorate that milestone in a lasting way. Since we both plan to be cremated, we chose to install a granite plaque in the Maze of Honor to mark our existence on Earth.

Whenever we're in the area, we make a point to stop by, reflect, and visit our plaque — a small but meaningful reminder of our lives and love.
